Welcome Eloise Anna Beattie!

 Eloise Anna Beattie

Born at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) at 2:15 am on the

8 October 2013

Weight : 3.095 kg (6 lb 13 )
Height : 49 cm
Looks : Stunning

All went well with Mum/Mom and baby. After making us wait an extra 13 days, and with a touch of medical encouragement, Eloise came into the world quickly and without a problem. A beautiful, healthy baby girl and little sister for Madelaina.

Unfortunately Eloise had a few abnormal temperatures and was breathing a bit fast in the first 12 hours, so a blood test was done and came back slightly elevated. As this can be a sign of fighting an infection, the paediatric team recommended 5 days of antibiotics in hospital, just to be safe.

Luckily Eloise recovered very quickly, returning to normal on day 2, so it just ended up a few extra days in hospital to complete the antibiotics before being well and truly ready to come home on day 5.

Finally heading home...
  as a family of four!
Settling into life at home

Thanks to Nan and Pop for your great help for the arrival of Eloise.
Enjoying some warmer weather for a change in our backyard and at our local Kingston Beach.

Now that caring for a new baby is coming back to us, we are enjoying life at home with our two little ladies. Aside from a new appreciation for managing a windy baby, Eloise enjoys her sleep and has been all in all a very good newborn. Big sister Maddy is still excited about her new sibling, and has proven a very gentle and caring older sister (and useful dummy/pacifier replacer...). And if Maddy wasn't fully testing our patience with her terrible two's it would be perfect...

Thanks to all for your kind thoughts and beautiful presents. We look forward to sending you more pictures in the future of our adventures as a family of four!
